Ambassador G. Barış Tantekin was born on July 8, 1974, in Ankara, Türkiye. He holds a law degree from Grenoble University, France.

A graduate of the École Nationale d’Administration (ENA), “Simone Veil” Class of2006, he has held various positions within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ofthe Republic of Türkiye. Most recently, he served as Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to the Republic of Lithuania from February 2023 to July 2025.

Ambassador Tantekin assumed his duties as Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to the Kingdom of Belgium on July 15, 2025, and presented his Letters of Credence to His Majesty King Philippe on September 3, 2025.

He is married to Damla Tantekin and has one daughter. He speaks French and English.
